Pitch In is very excited to feature Lawndale Community Academy’s school counselor, Ms. Kirsten Perry, was honored with the National Counselor of the Year award. Awesome, right!? Well the awesomeness didn’t stop there; to follow up the award, Ms. Perry was invited to Washington D.C to speak in front of 200 guests including Michelle Obama! Ms. Perry was allowed to bring two students along with her to D.C, and one of Pitch In’s very own was selected, Damarcus Thompson!
Damarcus looked dashing in a black & white tux as he gave a very beautiful and compelling speech about the positive impact that Ms. Perry has had on Lawndale Academy and his life. He also gave Pitch In a shout out!
