Gather for Good

A Pitch In Dinner Celebration

On October 2, 2021, Pitch In friends and supporters gathered for good at the home of Kerry and Sarah Wood to celebrate Pitch In’s expansion to Englewood next spring. Throughout the evening, Ms. Bonnie Hunt shared comedic and powerful reflections on what it means to have and spread hope. Kerry and Sarah reflected on how much our extended Pitch In family has meant to our growing organization, especially over the last 20 months. Janene Ingram, Executive Director, invited us all to help spread the light that each and every one of our Pitch In students shines. And, Nate Olison, Pitch In Site Leader, performed a piece of original poetry, “The Journey of Wonder,” inspired by the student-led classroom mural below.

We are humbled to share that through our guests’ generosity and support, our Gather for Good festivities raised $320,000 to directly support the growth and expansion of Pitch In, proving that we are indeed #BetterTogether, and offered us the resources and strength to continue expanding on what together means, across Chicago.

Thank you for Gathering for Good with us, and for reminding us that together, we become so much more powerful, so much more resilient, and so much louder.
