Last week Pitch In enjoyed three family dinners, student presentations, several special guests and more!
The Pitch In Breakdown:
6th Graders learned about restorative justice this month, the three pillars and how to use them when solving an everyday conflict. They were able to practice what they learned by acting out a conflict scenario and demonstrating how they would solve it. Family dinner presentations were entertaining to say the least!
5th Graders tackled our It’s In The Numbers theme learning about what it takes to run a business, what an employee needs and all about entrepreneurs. We were also visited by a real live entrepreneur from Lawndale’s own Hope Cafe owner, James. For our family presentations students shared their own big idea, what type of business they would like to start! We heard from food and game trucks, fashion designers, t-shirt shops and entertainment companies!
4th Graders focused on book club month as they learned about the different parts of a story and began reading their book club texts, The One and Only Ivan and The Zombie Project . Students presented the different story elements in their texts to families, they did an incredible job for their second presentation! We can’t wait to continue reading and see what happens next!
We were so happy to have Kerry and Sarah join us to meet our 4th grade students and families, what a treat!
